The name of this beautiful hill in Sitakunda of Chittagong is 'Chandranath'. Jagrat Shiv Mandir, a place of pilgrimage for Hindus, is located on this hill at a height of 1,250 feet. Every day at least several hundred tourists walk on this mountain.
There are several small shops from the foot of the hill to the top. Day by day that number is increasing. The shops have bottled water, snacks like chips. Almost everyone gets suffocated when they suddenly climb the mountain. And this time water is needed to save life. So tourists buy and drink bottled water from those shops. Some sweaty tourists drink orsaline to compensate for the lack of salt in the body. And so, plastic bottles and packets can be seen everywhere on the way up the mountain. Which is a threat to the environment of that mountain.
Chandranath Pahar in Sitakunda is a natural place on one side and a religious pilgrimage on the other. So tourists go there throughout the year.the green of the mountain, the random curved path, the light sweet morning sun; like a dream.
