  Sharburuj/Nouda Tower   Sharburuj of Gomstapur upazila bordering Chapainawabganj is known as an ancient heritage site.  Rahanpur, the heart of this upazila, and its surroundings have innumerable traces of ancient heritage.  During the reign of Raja Lakshan Sen, Rahanpur gained popularity as a commercial city.  He built Surmya Autralika in Rahanpur for commercial reasons, which is currently on the verge of extinction.  The real name of this trailer known as Shahburuj is Shahburuj.  The word Shah means King and the word Buruj means palace or fortress.  Which later became popularly known as the Bull Tower.  There is a building called Gumuz near this autorlica.  It is popularly known that this was the sitting room of Raja Lakshan Sen and he held his court here.  At present Raja Lakshan Sen's Autralika has collapsed and formed a mountain.  Even though various forest trees have been planted around this dilapidated building under go...

Mausoleum- Of -Captain- Mohiuddin- Jahangir- At- Chapainawabganj.

  Mausoleum of Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir   Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir was born in Rahimganj village of Barisal.  He joined Kakul Pakistan Military Academy on October 5, 1967.  He was commissioned on June 2, 1968 after diligently completing his training.  After six months of service, he joined the Military College of Engineering at Risalpur and passed the long 13-month basic course with distinction.  From there he did the bomb disposal course and established himself as an efficient officer of the Corps of Engineers and earned a lot of reputation.  In 1971, when the invading forces were wreaking havoc and brutalizing Bangladesh, Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir entered Indian territory through the Sialkot border, eluding the hill border guards of Karakoram's friend.  After leaving India, he reached the border of Bangladesh.  Martyr Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir was working as the commander of Mukti Bahini in sector 7 of Chapainawabganj border area of ​...

Shrine- of- Shah- Niamat- Ullah- At- Chapainawabganj.

Shrine of Shah Niamat Ullah     Among those who preached Islam in various parts of Chapainawabganj, Shah Niamat Ullah (RA) was popular.  During the reign of Sultan Shah Shuja (RA) he came from Karnia in Delhi to preach Islam.  Then he settled in Shibganj upazila.  After his death in 1080, he was buried in Ferozepur of Shibganj Upazila.  His shrine is located in Takhana Complex of Shibganj Upazila. Shah Neemat Ullah Wali's tomb is considered to be the earliest tomb architecture of the Mughal era.  It is an archaeological site listed by the Bangladesh Directorate of Archaeology. Tomb of Shah Niamat Ullah Wali The tomb is a square-shaped domed building standing on a high brick.  The Samadhi Bhavan is 49 feet in length and width on each side and the central chamber is 21 feet square.  Mazar Sharif is called Barduari because three entrances are inserted in each wall.  The main room is surrounded by a continuous vaulted porch.  There is a...
