Mayadeep, this island is the name of a beautiful char floating on the Meghna River. Mayadip belongs to Bardi Union of Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganje District.
The original name of Mayadeep is Nunertek. Mayadip is separated from the mainland of Sonargaon by the Meghna River. By river, the distance from Sonargaon is about four to five kilometers.
Around 35-36 years ago another char arose near the lap of triangular shaped Nunertek, which has three parts and three names of the three parts are Raghuna Char Guchchagram, Sabujbagh. And the large part in front of this cluster of villages is Mayadip.
Mayadip is a place of extraordinary beauty. Mayadip is not very big but all around is green and green. This island of unspoiled sandy beach surrounded by greenery appears with different beauty in each season.
During the monsoon, the huge water body of Meghna captures the shape of the sea, while you want to lose yourself in the Meghna with a boat. How to go to Mayadip -
From Gulistan in the capital Dhaka to Sonargaon in Narayanganj, various buses leave from morning to night. Rent 40 to 50 taka. Go straight to Sonargaon Mograpara by bus. Then from there you have to go down to Vaidya Bazaar by easy bike and hire a boat. It may take about 40 minutes. The boat rental for the whole day will cost up to 1000-1200 taka.
Where to stay-
As it is close to Dhaka, you can return on the same day, so there is no need to stay there. However, if you want to spend the night in Narayanganj, you have to come to Narayanganj headquarters and stay in a hotel. There are various hotels to stay in Narayanganj. One of them is Sonargaon Royal Resort.
It is important to remember that it is not allowed to stay there after evening. Leave the boat in such a way that Vaidya Bazaar is reached before evening.
