 Kansat Mango Market BD Chapainawabganj

Chapainawabganj district has a special reputation for mangoes, the most delicious fruit in the world.  Kansat in Chapainawabganj is the biggest mango market in Bangladesh.  It is the second largest market in the Asian continent.  The earlier name of Kansat was Kangsahatta.  The Kansat Rajbari is located in this Kansat which is known as Kunjo Raja's house among the locals.  This king has a hundred year old mango orchard known as 'Kansat Bazaar Orchard'.

Although there are hundreds of notable orchards in Chapainawabganj, this 'Kansat Bazar Bagan' is one of the mango orchards in the region.  Mango business is the main source of livelihood for the people of Chapainawabganj.  The delicious mangoes of Chapainawabganj are exported beyond the borders of the country.  The highway that runs from upazila Shibganj to Sonamsjid causes traffic jams for mango farmers during the mango season.  And seeing the mango orchards on both sides of this road is a sight to behold.

This upazila is becoming very active from the economic point of view because of this mango garden.

Mangoes worth hundreds of crores of rupees are sold in this largest market every mango season.  This market is crowded from dawn to dusk during Aam.  This market is famous for its wholesale market, you can buy mangoes and eat them if you want to visit the market, or you can buy mangoes in a basket and take them to the family.

Mangoes start arriving in this market as they mature.  This market is crowded from the beginning of May to the month of June, but the whole month of June is full of mangoes in this market.
