We travel to many places to get some rest from the mechanical urban life or to relieve physical fatigue or mental exhaustion.  However, it always takes time to travel somewhere far away and also costs more.  Time management becomes the major obstacle rather than cost.  So there are many places around Dhaka that you can visit in less time.  Among them, a very beautiful and heart-warming place is Golap Village.  This village will remove much of the fatigue of your mechanical life.

As far as you go, the surroundings covered with roses will keep you enthralled.  A soft light flickers on the morning dew-drenched rose.  A narrow winding road cuts through the village.  There are vast rose gardens on both sides of it.  A gorgeous red rose is blooming.  The smell of roses spread in the village.  You can buy roses by talking to any garden here.  But they don't want to sell less than 100-150 roses there.

The entire village of Sahdullahpur is surrounded by rose flowers of different colors.  Most of Dhaka's flower needs are met from here.  The farmers here provide the main supply of roses to various flower markets of the capital including Shahbagh.

Rose Market:

Local farmers built a market in this village ten years ago for their own needs.  After the whole day's care, the farmers of about 250 hectares of land in the village come to the market in the evening to sell flowers.  As the night progressed, the market began to gather.  Go till late night.  There are two markets called Mostabazar and Kashembazar.  During the season, each rose is sold at the rate of 15 to 20 taka, depending on the variety, and each bunch of 300 pieces is sold at 3,500 to 4,000 taka.  In the off season the wholesale price drops by two to three rupees per piece.  Roses worth Tk 20 to 25 lakh are bought and sold in this market, including Tk 9 to Tk 10 lakh daily.  As roses are always in demand, the growers are also busy throughout the year.  Especially on festival days the demand increases several times.  On the way to the market, you will see numerous small flower shops, from where rose lovers can buy

You can visit Rose Village at any time as roses are cultivated almost throughout the year.  The best time to visit the village to see the beauty of roses is during winter, January and February.  During this time, different types of flowers are cultivated in the village.  Many people come to visit this rose village in groups.  If you want, you can spend the whole day in the kingdom of flowers.  You can buy many flowers at a very low price.
