Alpona- village- Tikil- Is- lucrative- Village- At- Chapainawabganj.

 Alpona village  BD Chapainawabganj

Tikil is a village in Nejampur Union of Nachol Upazila of Chapainawabganj District.  About 90 Hindu families live in this village, which is full of memories of the leader of the Tevaga movement, Ila Mitra. Women paint Alpana on the walls of every house in this village. Each wall is like a canvas, and the people are Alpana artisans.  They have been doing these things for hundreds of years.  And because of drawing Alpana, their village was named Alpana village.  People from all over the country come to see this beautiful village.

When you hear the word 'alpana village', colorful pictures appear before your eyes.  I understand the image of that village like rice fields, mud walls, straw bales, a herd of cows.  It seems that the village is a picture painted by an artist.

Or the houses are clean and tidy.  Where small boys and girls are playing in groups.  The bride brings water with a pitcher.  The shepherd is going to the field with the herd of cows.

But anyone who sees the mud houses should not forget to compare them with the artist's paintings.  Or confuse the background of the beauty of the village with the alpana of the wall.  One such popular village is 'Alpana Gram'.

Every house in Alpana village, inside and outside, is not left out of Tuli  From the kitchen to the bedroom, every wall is filled by the girls with hand painted Alpanas

Tikoil's mud houses are decorated by villagers for their beautiful presentation and artistry.  This Alpana they painted with their own prepared paints.  Mud is also the source of the color of Alpana in mud houses here.  According to villagers, earlier housewives used girimati, chalk (clay), paint, turpentine oil to paint Alpana.  But Alpana painted in those materials did not last long.  So at present Alpana is painted by soaking dried plum paste, girimati, crushed old mango peel, chalk powder, different colors, manakchu and banana bark for at least 4/5 days.  As a result that Alpana lasted for more than a year.  According to them, just as it brings purity to the home, it also creates opportunities for happiness in the hearts of everyone in the family.

They perform this task in grand ceremonies on various festivals, festivals, pujas, auspicious occasions.  The words that say creation is joy of happiness are probably selfish in the craft of these people.  They live their days with the joy of living their own way in these small moments of their rural life.

The interesting thing is that in the old days old people liked the bride and groom of that house after seeing the sweetness of the house.  And the women (housewives) of Tikail village in Hindupara still retain the practice of painting Alpana.  Tikiil villagers believe that this trend will continue in the next generation. The women of Tikiil village paint Alpana on the wall of the house to beautify the house and wish for the blessings of the deity.
