Darasbari Mosque BD Chapainawabganj
The silence inside the mango orchard. A huge building in between. Collapsed roof, open sky, behind a dead river. Across the river is the border with India. The Daras Bari Mosque was established in 1479. Even after all these years, its structure stands proudly here. The name Darasbari is given by famous archaeologist Cunningham.
Darasbari is located near Omarpur between Chhota Sona Mosque and Kotwali Door in Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj District. A remarkable example of the early Muslim architectural achievements of Bengal. Darasbari is located near Ampur in Chapainawabganj Sadar. Local residents know the site of this mosque as Darasbari. Darasbari Mosque was built during the reign of Sultan Shamsuddin Yusuf. In the beginning, the name of the mosque was Ferozepur Mosque, but after the establishment of Darasbari Madrasa in 1504, the name Darasbari Mosque came to be known by people's mouths. The Darasbari Mosque made of terracotta bricks bears many similarities to the Chamchika Mosque in India. The inner rectangle of the mosque is divided into two parts and its main dome is quite interesting to look at. Darasbari Mosque is 99 feet 5 inches in length and 34 feet 9 inches in width and has a 10 feet 7 inches long balcony on the east side of the mosque. The mosque has a total of 9 elaborate mehrabs. And on the north side of the mosque there is a huge dighi with an area of about 60 bighas. The Yusufi Shahi inscription in Togra script obtained from the historical Darasbari mosque is currently preserved in the Kolkata museum.

First you have to go to Chapainawabganj from Dhaka and then you can go by CNG or bus from Chapainawabganj.It is located at a distance of 28 km from Chapainawabganj city.
